Happiness and Joy Intelligence
While happiness, joy and fun may sound like emotions or emotional intelligence they are like a word being a verb, noun, adjective and adverb
Emotional Intelligence crosses several boundaries. There is the process of experiencing happiness and joy as a result of an event.
Also there is a state of creating a mindset of happiness and joy as a way of being, just as it is possible to create a mindset of misery and depression.
Looking at a wine glass half full is different from seeing it as half empty. It is difficult to determine, which is positive or, which is negative. Both can be equally positive or negative.
Happiness, Joy, misery and depression intelligence are based in beliefs and values.
Holidays are filled with diverse meanings. One person will see a holiday as fun packed exotic joy and another see the exact same holiday as a major challenge. The holiday is the same; it is the beliefs and values that are diametrically different.
Robert Denton describes in his book High Performance After Burnout about coaching a chronic depressive who found it impossible to take a holiday. A month later without any warning, immediately after a coaching session, he booked himself on a holiday for three weeks and just left messages to say where he was and what he was doing.
In the coaching process the depressive client had modified limiting beliefs; thus changing his entire perspective of taking a holiday.
